Yoga for Mums and Bubs - Postnatal Yoga in Melbourne

Berwick: Tuesday 11.15am-12.15pm

Pakenham: Thursday 11.15am-12.15pm

What about baby?  Our philosophy at Yoga Plus is to tailor the classes for MUMS. Generally speaking, we do not incorporate baby play etc, as we try to give YOU, the mum as much yoga as we can. Your baby will be next to your mat on its blanket. Some days you will be able to practice yoga for the entire hour, and other days your baby will need more of your attention. It may need to be fed, settled, or re-settled. It is important not to set any expectations on your baby or yourself, and just come along and enjoy the atmosphere. Some classes are very quiet and other times things can get noisy - it's all good, anything goes!

Yoga Plus Postnatal Yoga Classes are specially designed to:

- Gently tone and strengthen your body after giving birth

- Release muscular tension that arises from carrying and feeding your baby

- Help you relax and nourish your body and mind

- Get as much yoga as possible, with the focus being on the mother and nourishing your body in a baby-friendly environment

- Each week will be a gradual progression to allow for a smooth transition to General level yoga

- It is absolutely fine to keep repeating the course as many times as you like until your baby outgrows the classes

"I love and look forward to my Tuesday morning Mum/Bub Yoga classes. It's something I can do that I enjoy and also  gives me the opportunity to still spend time with my son. The classes offer a warm, relaxing, welcoming and supportive environment from the moment you enter the room. And since starting the classes I have also noticed a huge improvement from the back and hip pain I was suffering from since giving birth to my son. It takes roughly 30 minutes to get to Berwick from where we live but definitely well worth the drive :)"

Class information:

- No yoga experience is necessary, our postnatal classes are gentle and safe following the birth of your baby. 

- Class duration is 60 minutes. New students to arrive 10 minutes early to register. Studio will open 15 minutes prior to class start.

- Suitable from 6 weeks after birth (or 8 weeks after caesarean) until your baby is actively crawling.

- All equipment is supplied, just bring your nappy bag and a blanket for your baby.

-  Nappies are to be taken away with you.

- Classes are feeding friendly, crying friendly! Come and share the joys and challenges of motherhood with other new mums.
